In this insightful webinar, Brenda Smith Myles, PhD, will offer tried-and-true solutions to minimize and circumvent the often frightening circumstances that surround the cycle of meltdowns, not only for the child with autism, but for others in the environment as well.
Brenda will share her research-based information on how to prevent the occurrence of meltdowns through instruction, interpretation, and coaching. She will take us through the stages of the cycle and emphasize the importance of utilizing systematic instruction and teachable moments before and after a meltdown. It is important to know that (a) meltdowns are not purposeful and (b) instruction is needed for them to stop. Brenda will provide practical steps to complete the journey of processing meltdowns successfully.

- The difference between a meltdown and a tantrum.
