Autism: College, Employment and Beyond! with Dr. Temple Grandin and Dr. Stephen Shore

Graduating high school can be a scary time filled with anxiety. The familiar has now become the unfamiliar. Changes are inevitable. Reactions to those changes and how to turn them into something good can be obtained. Hear Dr. Temple Grandin and Dr. Stephen Shore speak on personal experiences that helped them to overcome challenges and make a career for themselves. It is not hopeless! It can be done.

Dr. Temple Grandin has served as an inspiration and role model to hundreds of thousands of families and people with autism. In her unique conference presentations, Temple eloquently and candidly describes the challenges she has faced in dealing with autism and the obstacles she has met head-on to improve quality of life and to become an example of success to others.

Stephen Shore was diagnosed with “atypical development with strong autistic tendencies” and nonverbal until age four, Stephen was viewed as “too sick” to be treated on an outpatient basis. After being given such a negative diagnosis, Stephen evolved into an educated professional having completed his doctoral degree in special education and becoming a professor at Adelphi University. Stephen’s focus is helping people on the autism spectrum develop their capacities to the fullest extent possible.
