Today, she writes and speaks about the effect of Sensory Processing Differences/Disorder (SPD) on children’s learning and behavior and how families, teachers, therapists and other professionals can help. Carol is the author of “The Out-of-Sync Child: Recognizing and Coping with SPD,” and its sequels in the “Sync” series, including “The Out-of-Sync Family” and “Out-of-Sync Success Stories.” She is co-author (with Joye Newman) of material to get kids moving, including “In-Sync Activity Cards/Book” and “A Year of Mini-Moves for the In-Sync Child.” A graduate of Barnard College, she received an M.A. in Education and Human Development from The George Washington University. She lives in Bethesda, Maryland, plays the cello, and has five sensational grandchildren.
